My son has scoliosis but never used a brace or had spinal surgery. He does have back pain from time to time and massages seem to give him some relief.

We can only succeed if we try, and failing is often part of the learning process.

MemberSeptember 19, 2022 at 8:58 pm in reply to: How many of you use more than one assistive device? My son does based on the situation. On a regular day he uses a light-weight walker, but when we travel, he uses a more sturdy rollator. If we go to a ball game or other day trip with a long distance walk, we will take his manual wheelchair.

He has moved in and there were definitely accessibility issues that we didn’t foresee! He has been in contact with the office of accessibility at the college, but it is so frustrating that he has to use his already limited energy to get to his dorm room 🙁

When I start worrying about the what-ifs and thinking too far into the future, I get overwhelmed.

Usually an hour full body massage. It does seem to help when he’s stiff and having back pain.

Yes, I’m sure he will! The unknown is hard but you just have to take it one step at a time.

I currently pull for Auburn since my son is a student there! 🙂

Thanks, Christina! Living in the present is all we can do. None of us are promised tomorrow.

He had his first visit. They hadn’t gotten records from the previous cardiologist and had to set up an echocardiogram for another date.
