Happy Birthday @jesusr!!

THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!
-
I’ll be there!

Mine started in college. The first thing I noticed was struggling to walk up and down the stairs. I just thought it was because I partied a lot so I never thought it was anything serious!

I wanted to answer my own question because I am curious about the impact of friendships with everyone else too so why not start?
Since I was diagnosed as an adult, I never experienced growing up with having to explain FA to my friends but I feel like its become kind of a necessary filter now. A filter for who I want around and who should be in my life. What I mean is, I am more aware that people have to be accepting of my situation or I don’t choose to have them around me. Period.
Does anyone else feel similar?

Its always from someone who hasn’t stepped foot in a gym in a while or in life.
or
“Somebody has it worse than you so be grateful”
Which I most definitely agree with. But, I feel like hearing it frequently kind of diminishes my feelings. Its like, “thanks Susan! Just telling you about FA in general because you asked.”
See what Im talking about here

Im sorry to hear the troubles of citizenship, Jesus. But, it sounds like everything eventually worked out.

I’m sorry about your late diagnosis. This is very similar to the emotions I felt. What did you first notice?

@shauna-opseth yess! I always have to pull over if I have a sneezing attack.
-
Haha! Maybe a positive overall! Do you limbs flail everywhere? That’s happened to me whenever I sneeze in a chair.
-
Fenna, I think this is common among those of us with FA so I know what you mean! I don’t think the sadness will ever fully go away but I think they’re ways to deal with those emotions. Find whatever works for you.
