Thank you for your service and sharing your story, @vitamyr! It sounds like resilience and determination of your mind has helped you throughout your diagnosis path! You are truly someone to look up to in the FA Community!

Hi @karina! Just checking in to see how you and your daughters have been feeling? No complications since overcoming your COVID diagnoses, I hope!

I recently came across this book on Amazon Kindle.
It is written by Kirsty McPake and she guides us through her journey of living with Cerebellar Ataxia. Her goal is to raise awareness of Ataxia and educate those who are unaware of this life altering condition.

Love Amazon! We have Amazon Prime and it definitely makes life easier. They ship to our house a few times a week so I don’t have to leave the house everytime I have to run an errand! And each time proceeds goes to FARA ehich is awesome 😊

Kudos to Noah’s school for making the right accommodations for him and the future of the disability community!

Being rare has taught me to appreciate the little things and to celebrate small victories, because they make a big impact!
I am also grateful for the FA Community and how we pick eachother up when we fall..literally and figuratively! Haha

It can be a scary and unnerving feeling for sure.
In the interim of getting my test results confirming FA, my family and I got involved right away. We reached out to FA Support Groups online and even attended our first rideATAXIA event in our local area (Philly). It was overwhelming, but this way were able to connect and meet families and hear their experiences first hand.

This is a great reminder that I need to order ours. Thank you!

I like your idea of saying something positive and not focusing on our limitations. There is still so mchh we can do, even it has to be done a different way.

However, I am still hopeful because a there is a company out there that is working and striving for the same end goal! Everything these days is up in the air, but i am thankful something is at least in the works.

I am happy to hear that you are keeping an optimistic attitude throughout it all and that no physical complications have occurred!
I am sorry to hear that it has logistically been an issue. I know it is easier said than done, but try to remain positive. We wouldn’t be dealt with the challenges that come with living with a rare disease if we werent able to handle it! Keep on the good fight! 😊
