Have you ever hosted a grassroots event?
On Sunday this week is Mother’s Day, which is also my family’s annual 5K Race for Christina. After the ongoing pandemic of two years, this will mark the 8th year of having the event.
In a past column, I wrote the necessary steps to take while planning an event. Even after time passed, the information was still relevant and resourceful to help me plan for this year.
Have you ever hosted or attended a grassroots event? What advice would you give to someone who has never run one before?

We have never hosted one ourselves but many years back, before my son was diagnosed with FA, we volunteered at our friend’s 5K to raise funds for SMA.
I know it takes a lot of work! Best wishes for your event! -
Thank you so much! I am very pleased with how the event turned out, considering the rainy weekend and still being in a pandemic. Already looking forward to next year!
