Frankie,
1-2 glasses of red wine or 1-2 mixed drinks (rum/bourbon and coke, baileys and milk etc). My personal tell that I’m nearing too much for the Ataxia is that the palms of my hands get this almost furry sensation. 😂😂

I’m not a neat eater (yay fa) but I still eat in public. I hit walls and get my wheelchair caught up in clothes racks when I’m shopping. Loads of FA moments. If people stare it kinda show’s how boring their lives must be for them to find an FAer mishap so Enthralling.

I never really had that comfort problem when I began using my chair. But I do stick with elastics just because it’s easier balance wise to get them up and down, and your dexterity doesn’t have to be on point if you’re in a rush. Have you tried jeggings?

I don’t get any long term side effects and it doesn’t effect my sleeping. I don’t drink much when y’all do drink though. One serve kinda improves my larger movements. Totally much more and everything requires more effort and more concentration.

Smashed avo is tasty à s! Same with avo on toast with vegemite and sliced tomato.

I got extra time to write for exams and then someone wrote while I dictated. I was also allowed to leave class early so I could navigate the stairs without the crowd. I was also permanently excused from P.E.

I’m on it. I have noticed the lighter feeling, less bloating and all that. I think it might help me digest my vitamins a bit more. And I think I have more energy.

I live with my parents and brother. When my parents go on holidays my brother and I work out a schedule for when he’s out and if I need extra help around the house and stuff, I’ll organise an extra support service.

All the time. And my reaction isn’t always the same. There’s the dirty look, verbal confrontation, confusion (I’m in Australia and we mostly have separate unisex accessible bathrooms with opaque doors so you can definitely see the shadow of someone jumping around to test the room in their new clothes), but quite often I’m just busting to pee. So if my wheelchair clips them on my way in, so be it.

Personally I prefer the ‘L’ shaped rails in public toilets. But my real issue was that I prefer the railing to be on the right hand side. Something to do with how I balance I think.
