Uber kept asking me to meet my driver across busy city streets and sometimes they weren’t there when I finally got across…as in ride cancelled. Admittedly, this was my first Uber by myself in Boston. I have had better luck with Lyft. But on either, even when ordering a taxi, when you request a wheelchair access vehicle (WAV) things go much more smoothly.

I am about a year and a half into my time with my sweet service dog Wendy, she does more each day and you are so right the companionship and unconditional love can’t be beat. Do people just smile when they see the two of you around town?

I just got her to get the dirty laundry off the bathroom floor and put it in the laundry basket by saying “get the laundry” (The dirty clothes have to be in the bathroom though)
She can pull my wheelchair, but sometimes I feel out of control…they taught me to do it by holding the handle on her vest, so I only have one hand on my wc. How do you do it?
