Recently, I went on a trip with some girlfriends and was the only disabled person. We rented a house and the shower was absolutely not going to happen for me.

No handle, no grip tape or anything i could possibly grab onto. I usually bring a handle with suck cups that I’m able to transport and easily remove in the shower with no damage.

I completely forgot it so we just brought a chair in the shower.

What do you bring along when you travel?

    Patience…
I love to travel but have learned handicap-accessible differs by city even though we have the ADA.
I have been in ADA accessible rooms with 1 bar behind the toilet, beds so high I had to be lifted up & placed on, doors barely wide enough for a wheelchair. I have more examples but I’ll stop.

I leave my bars in my suitcase so I don’t forget.

Personally, I always check the adaptation before traveling, even asking for pictures of the bathroom. Bathroom being the big issue.
