Zach joins Coach Damon V to demonstrate a banded anti-rotation press and its seated, kneeling, and standing variations for building core stability.

What’s up, guys? Coach Damon V here with my guy, Zach. And today we have another awesome rare move for you. Today we’re going to be doing the banded anti-rotation press.
So we do a lot of emphasis on core stability, whether that be planks or other different movements. But core stability also has a rotational aspect, too. So here’s what we’re going to do.
We’re going to grab that band, two hands. From here, I’m going to angle off. So he’s got his arms straight in front of him, and I’m going to angle off, putting some good tension on that band. He’s gotta not let me pull him over. So he’s fighting, keeping his center line.
Then, from here, he’s going to pull his elbows back like he’s rowing. Exactly. So we’re anti-rotating all the way through the core, through the hips, and adding the press. And he’s going to feel it in different areas of his core as he goes in and out.
“Just like that, Zach. Few more. Perfect. Yeah, and I can give him more resistance. You go. Keep it in front of you. Keep it in front. There we go. Rest. Nice work, Zach.”
So what we would do here: We want to start with this one seated in our chair. If we want to progress it, we go to half kneeling like this. If Zach was my anchor—yeah, half kneeling like so. Excuse me. Double kneeling.
Then we can go into half kneeling, both sides. And then, obviously, lastly would be standing. All right. So let’s try this one at home, guys. Let me know what you think. Good job.
