    Excellent read!

Being around my father all my life has certainly taught me not to take anything for granted, especially the small day to day tasks and routines required to live. I find it difficult for other people to take this approach, as they mostly have not seen what something like FA can do. This is something I’d like to change.

I can tell writing is a passion of yours. Never give it up. You’re doing a lot by sharing these experiences. Typing skills will begin to fade in the coming years…Luckily, we’ve made excellent strides in voice recognition software, and there’s nothing wrong with dictating to your computer what’s on your mind. Dad has been using it for years now with success.

I agree with the friction socks above. We also use a lot of non-slip matting around the house in areas where my father will typically transfer. This is what we use:

Place around the base of the shower where you will be planting your feet. I also recommend a solid shower mat while in the shower.

We’ve the uses for the above Gorilla Grip abundant around the house for dad…

Very good article! I would have never made that connection with Sisyphus, but it honestly makes a lot of sense. Thank you for sharing.

    Happy Birthday Frankie!

The above article is actually the first article I came across when I discovered this forum the other night. I tried to leave a comment on the article which went something like…

From here, I went on the read many of the posts in your column. I found your writing to be very inspiring and informative. Helping to connect the dots with things that my father is constantly dealing with. I mentioned in my profile that I have a father and aunt with FA, and it has been a central part of my entire life.

Stay positive and keep up the awesome work! I look forward to chatting with you further, and offering any assistance and advice possible. Thanks!
