FA Advocate, Ambassador, and Patient, Robbi Van Schoick, recently wrote and published the book, “Becca Smart and Strong.”

At the beginning of the book, Becca is introduced as a child, and then excels through high school and goes to college despite the challenges of a neurological condition called Friedreich’s Ataxia. Through it all, her story portrays sisterly love, good friendships, and hard work.

Robbi is able to explain Friedreich’s Ataxia and things that people might not know about the disease by applying real-life experiences of her and her sister being diagnosed with FA. This book is in honor of Becca.

Will you plan on reading this or encouraging others to do so? Do you have any other reading recommendations?

Another FA Patient and Advocate, Hasitha Illa published a book called “Wheeling Away.”

Hasitha and her co-author Saakshi Singla wrote this picture book to help provide knowledge to children to help them learn about and understand disability, accessibility, and inclusivity.
