Making Summer Activities Accommodating for FA
The warmer months are finally here! Some days have made it feel like summer has made its return.
What are some summertime activities that you like participating in? What accommodations do you make so the activities aren’t impeded by your Friedreich’s ataxia?
I ride a recumbent trike which is low to the ground to help with balance and stability. I enjoy riding because I feel a sense of accomplishment and freedom using my legs in a different way I know I can’t use them when I am walking. I enjoy swimming in a pool and exercising by treading water because I don’t feel like I’m going to lose my balance.
