• Devices to Eat Food With

As a “foodie” living with Friedreich’s Ataxia, it is getting harder to enjoy trying new foods. One of  my latest struggles while eating is indulging a sandwich on my own, because it is hard to hold the sandwich without everything falling a part and out. Does this happen to anyone? Does anyone utilize assistive devices to make dining easier?

Yes. I often get my burgers or sandwiches cut up and use a rubber/foam fork. A similar spoon for cut-up noodles!

I also use a food tray. It’s great! Much better than the often inaccessible table.

@emandreck a food tray is a great idea! I will definitely keep that in mind!
