One of the hardest parts of living with FA isn’t just experiencing the symptoms—it’s the feeling of isolation.

When you’re diagnosed with something rare that has no cure, it can feel overwhelming and even a little scary at first.

This forum is about connection. We are here to make you aware that you’re not alone! Each member here understands the fatigue, muscle weakness, medication schedules, insurance battles, and the emotional ups and downs that come from living with FA.

What brought you to our FA community? How does connecting with others in our community impact you?

My wife brought me here….we met online , even though we shouldn’t have……neither of us was in each other’s age range or distance to meet but she showed up in my search. Her smile on her profile picture just floored me instantly.

I had never heard of FA before meeting her so through talking with her and searching on the internet I found this site and here we are…lol

This site helped me a lot in understanding prior to our first physical meeting .

Didn’t take long for me to realize she was the one.

So I picked up and moved to be closer to her….my machine shop, auto repair shop and all…..that was a job and a half trying to move a packed 4,000 square foot building worth of stuff plus the house….just my son and I and my truck and trailer . Along with 2 boats, off road toys , show car etc. Many many many many trips over an hour and a half one way.

My house was a bricked over log cabin so there was no possible way to make it accessible for her which is why I moved . Her house was already accessible…..easier and far less expensive for me to move.

Hi Clester! I love your story and journey with your wife. My husband and I also met online, it is the best way to meet people nowadays!

It’s remarkable to see you’ll do anything and go above and beyond for your wife! You both are lucky to have found one another.
