• The importance of a support system

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned during my diagnosis is that I need to surround myself with people who genuinely want to see me when. At first, I couldn’t decipher between those who felt bad and those who were in my corner.

I think that’s a very natural reaction so I do not blame anybody for the way they handled my diagnosis. However, I have learned that there are many things that I can accomplish with the help of friends and family. Some people won’t be as supportive as you thought but those who are will make up for those who lack.

Do you have support? Do you have people that you can depend on? Or, is it a difficult situation?
