  Making Positive Changes

  I wrote in my August 2021 column about my son, Noah, going off to college. It has been an adjustment with several challenges, but overall, it has been a positive experience for him.

  He is a sportswriter for his college newspaper and is pursuing a degree in journalism. He recently wrote about his experience as a student with a disability trying to navigate getting into the arena for a basketball game. He asked the university for assistance in addressing this accessibility issue, and thankfully, they responded!

  I am so proud of him and the way he spoke out. Instead of getting frustrated and staying home, he helped make a positive change that will impact many students’ experiences going forward.
