In Jean Walsh’s latest column, she discusses the emotional difference between jealousy vs. envy when living with Friedreich’s Ataxia.
Jealousy tends to lead to rivalry because you miss out on a relationship with something or someone that you once had, and somebody else possesses the same type of relationship. Envy often leads to desires for what someone else has.
