I think that it’s really important for patients to have good relationships with their physicians and to feel comfortable talking about a myriad of topics. You have to be open and honest with your physician.
Hopefully, physicians — especially those who take care of patients with rare conditions—are open to hearing about issues and problems without having a fixed mindset about what they think is right or wrong.
It’s important to have a good therapeutic alliance with your physician so you can discuss treatments and other issues or problems you might be dealing with.
You shouldn’t feel ashamed or shy about bringing up concerns that may be really important in your treatment journey.
