Whether it’s transferring from our mobility devices or picking ourselves up off the floor after a fall, upper-body strength is necessary to do these tasks safely.

Seeing my trainer once a week at the gym, and her giving me the courage and motivation to use machines for my arms, has been helpful when I transfer from my scooter.

How do you manage your upper-body strength as someone with FA? What are some of your best tips and tricks for transferring?

I have two 5 ib weights that I do arm exercises with. It is something I can do sitting and work out different parts of my arms by doing exercises.

I do that too! I also have an 8lb kettlebell to do arm exercises with.

I saw this! It looks very beneficial and great work for upper body exercises. I am going to show my trainer at the gym this week and try this exercise!
