Kyle Bryant was diagnosed with Friedreich’s ataxia at just 17 years old. Over the past 13 years, he’s struggled with hearing impairment, vision loss and heart complications (which will inevitably shorten his lifespan). He has symptoms of both scoliosis and diabetes, and has trouble moving, speaking and up until recently, exercising. Despite Kyle’s own physical limitations (including loss of coordination and balance), he’s embarked on a fitness journey most are terrified to even attempt: CrossFit.

After hearing about the intense workout program from a friend with FA, Kyle decided to give it a whirl. He now participates in classes twice a week, taking each WOD (workout of the day) as it comes. As he says, “I figure out what I can do, and then I take it as far as I can take it.”

Do you exercise? What do you think about CrossFit? Have you tried it or would you like to?
