• High Cholesterol and FA

I recently had my routine bloodwork done after taking Skyclarys for two years.

It turns out my cholesterol levels came back high, high enough that they raised some red flags. Both my neurologist and primary care doctor and I came up with a plan to try a modified diet and revisit in six months by getting more lab work done. I am hoping that changing my eating habits will help because I don’t want to take more medication if I don’t have to.

Does anyone here have high cholesterol? What are some recommendations you make to best manage it?

Same with me. I really don’t want to be put on a statin for the rest of my life. Mines been gradually increasing the past few years & my PCP doesn’t think it’s diet/exercise related because I’m much healthier than I was 5 years ago

Same! I feel much healthier because I exercise more and see a personal trainer at a gym, so I don’t get it. I am really hoping a modified diet helps.

Hey! My cholesterol levels were super high at the beginning of this year, and my doctor also recommended a modified diet to see if that would help. Since then, I’ve lost about 30 pounds & my cholesterol levels have gone down, but they’re still in an elevated range. I am getting blood work done next week to check my levels again, but I think if they’re still high, my doctor is gonna recommend that I stop taking skyclarys or go on cholesterol lowering medication.

My wife’s was high…we altered our diet and she started some otc supplement and about the same time her neurologist wanted her to start vitamin B1…..after about a month her cholesterol came back down . We went back to normal diet and she stopped the supplement but is still on the B1…..and her cholesterol has been normal since. Don’t know if it’s the B1 or if it’s just a coincidence or what.

She has been on skyclaris since it was first available.

Hi Clester! I am glad your wife found alternatives that work for her! I am going to look into B1. Thanks for the information!
