    Wheelchair Foot-rests

    I’ve been using a wheelchair partially for 16 years, and full-time for about 12 years.

    One thing I notice as I meet more wheelchair-using FAers is that they mostly tend to use  U-shaped foot-rest on their wheelchairs, so their feet are closely underneath them in the sitting position. Every manual wheelchair I’ve had foot-rest that juts out in front of the wheelchair. So my feet are more stretched out than in a position parallel to my trunk.

    I’ve been wondering about this. Which way is better? Should I look into changing?
