I was diagnosed with FA in 1976 by neurological tests and an ECG – genetically confirmed in 2010. After having ‘office’ jobs I did an Open University degree and went to law school where I did the PgDip but FA made me leave the Legal Practice Course because of fatigue and travelling. I’m married with a daughter of 35 who lives in London, UK and works in Tunis. I live in a bungalow in South Wales, UK and I’m well and truly wheelchair-bound now – I transfer with a hoist and have an assistant every morning.
