Hi, I am a 51 years old woman with FA diagnosticed at 34, without symptoms at that time. I had 2 older sisters who deceased one at 37 and the other at 47. I had a “normal ” life until my 40’s. I start walking with a cane at 44 years old, then with a service dog at 46, and since my 49, I am using a walker full time. I stopped my career as a lawyer at 46. I am a single mother since 8 years now (daughter is 20 and son is almost 14). I do some volunteer work for an organization of my community  helping elderly. I’m glad to join your forum, that certainly helps me not feeling alone and isolated with FA. Please apologize for my poor expression en English. My language is French and, I am also fluent in Spanish.
