Lately, I have been having trouble sleeping. I think this is because mentally, my mind is going a hundred miles a minute with the worries of FA. Then, physically, I do too much during the day and overwork my body. I’ve been having trouble falling asleep because I am overthinking or I am overfatigued.

I find meditation and muscle relaxers prescribed by my neurologist help me fall and stay asleep!

How does FA affect your sleep? Do you experience insomnia, muscle cramps, or excessive fatigue? If so, what strategies, sleep aids, or medications have helped improve your sleep quality?

I also have insomnia but it’s been so much better recently because I have found what helps. My doctor prescribed me hydroxyzine as needed for when I can’t fall asleep because my mind is overwhelmed and won’t shut off. It does make me more uncoordinated when I take it and the day after. I also love natures calm. It is a magnesium powder that goes in water. I also found getting black out curtains helps me sleep better, having a box fan for white noise, and getting a comfy pillow.

I’m glad you found all these methods that work for you!

I never heard of hydroxyzine, but I am going to look into it!
